About Me

Michelle B-G: I am a professionally trained traditional upholstress based in North Wales. During a tea break I mused that the sheep in the surrounding fields looked like little footstools...the Baa Stool idea was born. I wanted as many of the materials in the stool to be local and from sustainable sources which I have achieved. The frames are made by a local craftsman who can show me the stump where the tree fell! The fleeces are all from British flocks. When I'm not working on Baa Stools I take old, tired pieces of furniture and bring them back to life with a complete re-build including new stuffings or simply a new cover. I work using traditional techniques and materials using fibre, horse hair, hand springing and stitching to achieve an authentic finish.
